Adea Law

Discrimination has been around longer than recorded history; discrimination against a person because of their gender, race, financial standings, and a host of others. ADEA Law (Age Discrimination in Employment Act) of 1967 deals specifically with the issue of age discrimination in the workplace. This law states that no employee who is 40 years of age or older shall be discriminated against in the workplace in reference to hiring, promotion, discharge, compensation, benefits, training, job responsibilities, and conditions or privileges of employment. It further states that no employer shall retaliate against an employee for their participation in any age discrimination litigation. ADEA law is enforced by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
