The Age Discrimination Act forbids employers from withholding job information, hiring, promoting or notice of benefits from older workers. An older worker simply cannot be forced from their job or lose their benefits based solely on their age. Anyone who feels they have been discriminated because of their age should report the incident within 30 days. If the employer will not do anything, it can be reported to the EEOC. The EEOC will force the company into complying with the investigation. Regardless of the situation, if it involves age discrimination, it is illegal.
